Microban destroys odors by attacking odor causing substances on the surface of carpet fibers. Heavy concentrations of pet urine, for example, can soak through the carpet backing and into the carpet pad/sub floor. In cases such as this complete odor elimination cannot be guarenteed by topical applications; extra measures may be required to remove pet urine that has penetrated beneath the carpet.
